Taklech, June 20: The newly renovated building of the Taklech branch of the Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank (HPSCB) was inaugurated by the Bank’s Chairman, Davender Shyam. The ceremony was attended by Bank Director Hari Krishan Himral, Managing Director Vinay Singh (IAS), senior bank officials, local panchayat representatives, residents and a large number of customers.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Davender Shyam said that the bank is moving rapidly towards modernization and is upgrading its branches in a phased manner to meet changing customer needs. He said that all branches would gradually be equipped with improved seating arrangements and modern banking facilities for the convenience of customers.
He credited the bank’s growth to the guidance and support of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, stating that the institution is committed to providing better and quality banking services to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
The Chairman also informed that he recently met Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra in Mumbai and raised concerns regarding RBI guidelines issued on November 28, 2025, which had restricted cooperative banks from providing short-term cash credit limits linked to institutional loans. He said the RBI Governor assured a review of the matter.
Appealing to farmers and orchardists, Davender Shyam urged them to take advantage of the bank’s High-Density Apple Plantation Scheme, under which loans of up to ₹8 lakh per bigha are being provided. He also encouraged people to avail themselves of the bank’s Pick-up Mini Truck Loan Scheme, which offers loans at simple interest rates.
